Shared View With Someone Now Gone by Zach Van Horn

"this piece for some reason brings to mind my childhood neighborhood. i can't pinpoint exactly why that is, but there is a sort of historical feel to it, one of those moments captured by an old photo, before everything was posted online in a glut. the type of photo you took as a kid with a little spy camera you got for reading a bunch of books or something, and you take mundane photos of a house and a blue sky and then wait like 6 weeks for your mom to remember to have it all developed, and for some reason you see it 30 years later and you can smell the air of summer and see for a minute through your own childhood eyes. i don't think the sky will ever be as blue as it was when you were a kid because we just don't look like we did when we were young."
