Worthington, OH (February 29, 2024)
Just two weeks off a recent song release, Columbus-area musician, songwriter, producer, performer, and teacher Matt “Stylie'' Steidle recently announced a new song release from That's The Breaks titled Natural Consequences.
This release features a growing songwriting collaboration between Stylie and Broomwater, a newcomer to the Columbus music scene who elects to stay anonymous.
Natural Consequences delivers a nuanced slice of the American experience. Lyrically, the song is a slow and measured response to the quiet chaos that we all see in our communities, the kind that never makes the news but represents life in America right now. With a mellow R&B vibe and killer hook, Natural Consequences highlights Matt Steidle’s vocal range and musicianship.
After the signature kickoff line, the song dives deeper with lines like “Melatonin in the wonder bread, singing songs only in our heads…”, and “Washed down to the earth, amen. Crawled out of the mud again. Can you heal, these broken bones?”. Broomwatr continues to push listeners to ask more questions than they get answers, and to confront what may be slipping through all of our fingers, and Stylie's music serves up a mix of soulfulness and melancholy.
