*\[read these words out loud, your voice gives them power\]*

Just once I want to make something beautiful
Though I am weak and full of holes
I want to make one thing, just one that nobody knows

I want to make something that stands on its own
Touched with madness, not factory glazed
Burning so bright the cynics amaze

I want one thing, one to scream out loud
Of pearl or of pen or gilded all gold
Wonderstruck joy that doesn't get old

I look for the time and it never arrives
I sit and I think and it simmers inside
I wait for my plate and then push it aside

Something

I need that one shot to fire the heavens
To lift up a hand with arms not so leaden
To rise and fight and sing all unleavened

I just want to make something beautiful
Just this once. Just this once.
