Matt “Stylie'' Steidle and Broomwatr recently announced another new song release from That's The Breaks band, titled Space. This is the 4th release of 2024 between That’s The Breaks and Broomwatr, with plans to release music monthly.
Matt Steidle is known throughout the CBUS area for his freakish musical skills. For real; at a recent show he was politely interrupted by an audience member who was so impressed, he made a point to highlight Matt’s custom 7-string guitar (hand built in CBus!) and Matt’s ability to play bass, rhythm, and lead guitar (with some clever looping) all at the same time for the crowd. Space is a super funky take on a classic conundrum we have all faced in life; the unseen ‘space’ that can develop between a couple over time. Starting with the line “I been walking along, I been thinkin’ of you. Everyday at dawn, the sun shines on you…”, the song takes the listener on a journey into a man’s mind as he contemplates his Love, and whether it's good to stick it out or time to wave goodbye.
Musically, the tune comes with Stylie’s unique drum mixing, not to mention a ripping bridge that includes some Stylie lead guitar manna-from-heaven as well. As the song builds to peak, it lays out a jammy vibe, but pulls it back home with the constant refrain “Baby the space, between me and you!”. Will he stay or will he wave goodbye? Will he beg or drive away? No spoilers! and yes, headphones are required to get the full effect of this son, sorry not sorry.
This release features a growing collaboration between Stylie, the man behind the music for That’s The Breaks, and Broomwatr, a newcomer to the Columbus music scene who elects to stay anonymous. Together, they want to make music that matters and changes lives.
