We love the twang you have to your voice sometimes, hearkens back to the old days of country, was that cultivated in Dayton OH? Where does that come from Mr. Lee, what inspires your singing style? Got a bit of David Alan Coe moan in you? Or is it more OG Hank??

I get my love for older music from my Grandfather who was a bluegrass singer in the Dayton area in the 70s. From an early age he showed me lots of music that would inspire me later on in life. My mother also loved singer songwriters like Jim Croce, Cat Stevens and James Taylor. So that's where my love of Songwriting comes in. I'm definitely more inspired by Hank Williams Sr and Jimmie Rodgers than David Allen Coe.

You recently challenged yourself to writing one song a month - what has that been like? Are you going to keep going with it?

So far the challenge has been fairly easy. I find the more I think about it, the more the songs come. I just have to challenge myself to not write songs that sound alike. My wife is usually pretty good on letting me know if I'm getting stale with my writing. I plan on continuing to write at least one song month until I can't write anymore.

Ok Scott, so you die and go to heaven or wherever your goin' (or not goin), and a force or God or some almighty power says 'You Mr. Lee, have been inducted into the annals of songwriter fame. You can now sit down and have a drink with any of history's greatest musicians or songwriters, the y are all in that saloon over there in alphabetical order by last name, but you only have time to get to know 3 of them well.' Who do you sit down with?

I would sit down with Woody Guthrie, Jimmie Rodgers and Bob Dylan. Woody has always inspired me to think different, be rebellious, and to always stand up for what is Just and good in this world. I'd sit with Jimmie Rodgers because he was a true original. He is known as "The Father of Country Music" and is a huge influence on me and my songs. And I'd sit with Bob Dylan because he seems like a odd ball Character that would be full of wisdom you couldn't get anywhere else. He's also one of the greatest to ever write songs.

We love the song 182 Melancholy dream (we dove deep on your FB page!), tell us about this verse, which really just smacked us in the face in a good way:

I've got this Quasimodo feeling
I have a hump on my soul
I'm going to hide in my tower,
I'm going to throw away my phone
The bells of pride are ringing
I think I might just go insane
All my ink has turned to poison
And now my words feel just like chains

Just a lonely soul looking in the mirror a little too hard.
